El Corazon is an experiment in music: composition, production, distribution, promotion and centrally, performance.
Sometime in late 2008, in different places but at almost exactly the same time, 3 friends heard the demos of a songwriter from Belfast who, for now at least, is called Amolta -and calmly yet collectively went bat-shit. One of the friends owned and ran a recording studio. Another ran a music distribution company. The third was an internet entrepreneur and musician.
A few weeks later 3 friends and Amolta met and the idea formed to pool the group’s collective resources – experience in composition, production, distribution, promotion and centrally, performance. The goal was to bring the amazing music of this artist to as many people as possible.
El Corazon is basically an online mailbox for this collective to drop ideas into, a virtual whiteboard for us to scribble our experiments, successes and failures. You’ll hear from all of us on a regular basis on what’s baking our noodles – individually and collectively.
So say hello – this is gonna be a fun ride.
